Emily CERTIFICATE 15 RUNNING TIME 130 MINUTES START TIME 7.45 PM |

"Emily" imagines Emily Brontë's own Gothic story that inspired her seminal novel, 'Wuthering Heights.' Haunted by her mother's death, Emily struggles within the confines of her family life and yearns for artistic and personal freedom, and so begins a journey to channel her creative potential into one of the greatest novels of all time.
What "Emily" does so well is establish a mood. The mood is flexible enough to contain multitudes. Nanu Segal's cinematography is sparked with energy and drive. There are times when the camera hurtles through the rooms or across the fields, chasing after Emily, careening around corners, almost like it's going to crash into a wall. RogerEbert If O’Connor’s aim was to recreate a British classic, she has surely failed to reach those lofty heights. Mackey shows further signs of promise, but she’ll be better off elsewhere Empire |

Banshees of Inisherin CERTIFICATE 15 RUNNING TIME 114 MINUTES START TIME 7.45 PM |
|
Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows lifelong friends Padraic and Colm, who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan and troubled young islander Dominic, endeavour to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Padraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend's resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.
It’s visually stunning and consistently witty while being unafraid to ask serious questions about life as it is, and should be, lived. It is proper art. The Times The film itself is a stone cold classic. Like McDonagh’s last black comedy (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), it’s a visually stylish take on obsession. But it’s more focused and less sentimental. Evening Standard |

Matilda CERTIFICATE PG RUNNING TIME 117 MINUTES START TIME 7.45 PM |

Matilda Wormwood is a little girl with big curiosity, a sharp mind and a vivid imagination. While her parents content themselves with trashy TV and dodgy money-making schemes, she loves to lose herself in the pages of her beloved books. Where they are loud, selfish and unkind she is a quiet observer, thinking up small and cheeky acts of rebellion and revenge. On meeting her inspirational teacher Matilda is encouraged and begins conjuring her own fantastical tales. Excited to attend Crunchem Hall, Matilda is surprised to find the school is an ominous and oppressive place led by the huge and villainous Miss Trunchbull. Filled with an overwhelming sense of justice, Matilda dares to take a stand for what is right and teach Trunchbull a lesson she won't forget.
A sugar-fuelled thrill, this boasts a fine young cast and pleasantly pantomime adult roles. It may be too long for younger kids, but tweens are going to love it. Empire The musical of Roald Dahl's classic book is so intrinsically British it will soon be adsorbed into the Paddington cinematic universe. The Independent |
