The Penguin Lessons CERTIFICATE 12A RUNNING TIME 111 MINUTES START TIME 7.45 PM |

Inspired by the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976. Expecting an easy ride, Tom discovers a divided nation and a class of unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin from an oil-slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.
A well-meaning, awkward tonal jumble of a movie, based on the bestselling memoir by former teacher Tom Michell; it is a quirky true-story heart warmer. The Guardian The Penguin Lessons also proves unexpectedly moving, its emotional manipulations fully forgivable. By the time it ends with home-movie footage of the real-life Juan Salvador happily swimming in the school’s pool, you’ll have fully succumbed to its charms. Hollywood Reporter |

Maria Callas is one of the most iconic performers of the 20th century. The film follows the Greek-American soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye, reimagining the legendary diva in her final days as she reckons with her identity and life.
Angelina Jolie's acting imbues the entire film with tremendous emotional power. To me, this movie, Maria, was an absolute masterpiece. Rotten Tomatoes Jolie is staggeringly good. · It is, as much as anything else, a study of performance and fame. Empire On-line |

National Theatre recording: Mrs Warren's Profession CERTIFICATE 12A RUNNING TIME 120 MINUTES START TIME 7.45 PM |

|
Mrs. Warren's Profession is a play by George Bernard Shaw about a young, independent woman who discovers her mother's past and current profession as a brothel owner across Europe. The play explores themes of social hypocrisy, economic hardship, and gender roles, as Mrs. Warren argues that prostitution was her only option for a better life and better pay than a factory job.
While Vivie eventually comes to understand and accept her mother's past, she rejects her mother's present profession and severs ties including access to her wealth, choosing an independent life as a career woman herself in the City. Despite clocking in at close to two hours without an interval, this one-act play rarely drags. Tension is created and held even in the frothier in-between scenes. Time Out 4 stars It is so refreshing to see a play so rich in dialogue and challenging themes, amongst the current world of flamboyant staging and concepts, the return of classic theatre is a pure pleasure to watch Theatre and Tonic 4 stars |
